Message from Pastor...
Peace be with you!
Brothers and Sisters in the love of the Risen Christ,
As I approach the college graduation of my second child, and as I approach the marriage of my first daughter this summer, it gives me to pause to “wonder”.
I remember them both for the children that they were and I marvel at the women they have become. Even as I remember… I write this with tears upon my cheeks. They come as do the memories of laughter and giggles, of cuts and scrapes, of little girls grown, of things done and things left undone. Try as I might, wish as I might, these days are now simply in my heart and mind. Only the tears in my eyes are really present. What I sacrificed, what they sacrificed, which will never be regained and yet there is tomorrow. Yes, and least I forget it, banish the thought, today.
I have today as they have today, an opportunity to play once more, to laugh once more, to tell stories once more and to love, love all that they were, all that they are, all that the hope and promise holds for them to be. My little girls upon their daddy’s knee, gifts from God and my wife, given unto me.
As I remember…
As I remember and as I begin to unfold the story upon these lives, you also
will remember... You also will remember my daughters; yes, but your own as well,
your sons and daughters, or yourself as a son or daughter. You will recall the
laughter and the tears, the joys and the sorrow, the excitement over a new discovery
as she points at the anthill with a squeal of “See”! Oh how I wish I had seen
as opposed to simply looking... But God sees them and me, saints and sinners
we may be. But God sees yours and you, saints and sinners you each may be. And
God remembers with us the things that were or are at least imagined. And God
remembers us as well, not simply then, but today.
Today as we remember, God remembers us. And as we remember and as God remembers us reconciliation is given.
God’s remembrance of love in Christ
